Thenmala Eco-Tourism

Thenmala is a tourist place near Punalur town, Kollam District inKerala. Thenmala is the first planned eco-tourism destination in India.Thenmala attracts foreign and domestic tourists with a host of attractions.Other places near Thenmala are Kuthupuzha, Anchal, Punalur, Kamukumchery and Shenkottah in Tirunelveli district(Tamil Nadu). Themala is 72 km from Thiruvanathapuram and 16 km from Palaruvi Falls.

TAJ MAHAL

          In 1631, Shah Jahan, emperor during the Mughal empire's period of greatest prosperity, was grief-stricken when his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, died during the birth of their 14th child, Gauhara Begum. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632.

         The Taj Mahal was built on a parcel of land to the south of the walled city of Agra. 
Shah Jahan presented Maharajah Jai Singh with a large palace in the center of Agra in exchange for the land. The exterior decorations of the Taj Mahal are among the finest in Mughal architecture.

NAPIER MUSEUM
         Napier Museum is an art and natural history museum situated in Thiruvananthapuram,the capital city of Kerala,India.

        The museum was established in1855.The museum houses a rare collection of archaeological and historic artifacts,bronze,Idols,Ancient Ornaments,a Temple chariot and ivory carvings.

JANAKIKAD
   Janakikad ecotourism is an eco tourism project developed near in the Kuttiady range of Kozhikode forest division which come under Vatakara taluk of Kozhikode district.Janakikad is situated in the Marothongara panchayat,7km from Kuttiadi in the Nadapuram Assembly constituency.

      Janakikad is having good bio diversity of plants,birds and animals including endemic birds,rare butterflies and herbal plants.Goegraphical features suit trekking for any age group.

         Peruvannamoozhy, a scenic village located 60km from Perambra in KOzhikode,Kerala has been included in the list of eco-tourism destinations in Kerala with the Tourism Minister inaugurating the eco-tourism project here on August 10,2008.
           Peruvannamoozhy is a fascinating eco-tourism centre is the water spread area of Peruvannamoozhy reservoir in Kozhikode district.It is an excellent area for understanding the conservation benefits provided by forests.Rich inWildlife,Birdlife and Butterfly population is an ideal location for nature enthusiasts.The irrigation dam and the garden nearby are added attractions.As part of eco tourism initiatives,the following facilities have been created:
